This oil painting is of the view from Graaff-Reinet Golf Course towards Tandjiesberg. I painted it on the deck of the Graaff-Reinet Golf Club on a Sunday afternoon with live music playing at the Bella Vista Restaurant. The artwork captures a snapshot of the local Karoo landscape with its mountains and expansive scenery. I focused on the peaceful beauty of the scene, enjoying the lovely complimentary palette of distant purple mountains and young grass yellow in the sun. The painting portrays the grandeur of the South African landscape.
